The difference is FRESH
Avesta Organic Amla is made from fresh Amla, not the usual dried fruits. The benefit of fresh fruit is a higher vitamin C and gallotannin content than other Amla products. With a superior ORAC value of over 1,500 per serving, Avesta Organic Amla is naturally rich in Vitamin C, gallotannins, gallates, polyphenols and other powerful, plant bioactives.
Ayurveda's Exalted Rejuvenative
The fruit of the Amla tree (Phyllanthus emblica) is highly regarded in Ayurveda to promote healthy aging1 and is traditionally considered to be the best of all the rejuvenative herbs.2 In the Indian Ayurvedic tradition, Amla is used as a rasayana,3 a dietary supplement or practice promoting rejuvenation, mental and physical health, as well as providing a defense against aging and challenging environmental factors.
Skin Care You Can EatTM
Preliminary laboratory studies on human skin cells have shown a significant increase in both collagen synthesis and elastin. Organic Amla strongly attracts moisture to the surface of the skin. Small amounts added to water, lotions or essential oils hydrate and tone while larger amounts can be used to give a dose of Vitamin C and gallotannins to treatment products leaving skin hydrated, clear and bright.
The Science of Amla
The potent in vitro antioxidant activity of Amla5-9 is higher than that of many other fruits and vegetables, including pomegranate juice,10,11 oranges, black grape juice, 10 beets, broccoli, Brussel sprouts, and tomatoes.12 Although the in vitro antioxidant activity of Amla is largely due to its content of vitamin C,2 the antioxidant activity of Amla was shown to be superior.8 Animal studies have also shown that Amla provides significant antioxidant activity13 and a clinical study suggests that Amla increases the bioavailability of vitamin C.14
A number of scientific experiments have shown that Amla lives up to its high reputation as a rasayana by ameliorating the effects of various stressors on the gastrointestinal tract.3 Evidence from traditional use,15-17 studies in animals,18-22 and clinical studies all suggest that Amla may help to support healthy gastrointestinal function.23,24
Clinical studies in normal subjects25 and in animals26-29 also suggest that a diet supplemented with Amla may help to support healthy cholesterol levels that are already within the normal range. Finally, both in vitro30,31 and animal studies32 have shown that Amla may help to support healthy immune system function.
